Dr. Prasad is a renowned ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal specialist who served as Professor of Ophthalmology and Fellowship Program Director at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute as well as Chief of Ophthalmology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He has trained over 100 residents and fellows, authored numerous publications, and earned multiple teaching and clinical excellence awards. Dr. Prasad holds an MD from UCLA, completed his residency and fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, and holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School with a focus on healthcare operations and biomedical innovation.

Dr. Schwartz is an internationally renowned vitreoretinal surgeon and translational scientist who helped pioneer anti-VEGF therapy injections for macular degeneration. Perhaps best known for advanced gene and stem cell treatments for macular diseases, he has published over 250 papers, won numerous grants, trained over 60 vitreoretinal fellows, and won many national and international awards including the Venice Free Clinic Physician of the Year. As the former Ahmanson Chair, Professor in Ophthalmology and Retina Division Chief at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute, he delivered numerous prestigious international lectures including the Royal Society of Medicine, The Emperor’s Lecture in Tokyo, and others. His innovations in diagnostic imaging, surgical instrumentation, and drug delivery systems have become standard care worldwide, with his work featured in major media outlets and most retina centers across the globe.
